Shown here are illustrations of the Ross Wenham Radial Microscope. It was first offered in 1882 when Wenham was still working for Ross (though he left later that year). The images illustrate the large number of variations in oblique illumination possible with the instrument. Shown first are an actual example and then engravings and illustrations from the J of the Society of Arts of 1886.

The images of an actual example are courtesy of the late George Vitt, former president of the Microscopical Society of Southern California, who granted me permission to use them on my site some time before he died. Thanks George, we miss you.
