WHITE CLOUD ILLUMINATOR
MAKER: Attributed to BECK
c. 1870's
This white cloud illuminator fits on top of a standard substage mirror to provide white cloud illumination from the sun. White cloud illuminators were invented by Cornelius Varley and an an example of his substage version is on this site. Unlike the original, the one shown on this page is concave and therefore does not require a separate bullseye condenser to illuminate it.
