JAMES SMITH MICROSCOPE LIEBERKUHN REFLECTORS
Lieberkuhns attach to the end of objectives. Their purpose is to allow illumination of opaque
objects via reflected light. Johann Nathanael Lieberkuhn was an eighteenth century German physician,
who, among other things developed the reflector that bears his name. His customized microscopes
were quite famous in his day and called Wonder-glasses
by his contemporaries.
