The very well made case is made of heavy stitched brown leather. It measures about 170 mm (6.7 inches) X 110 mm (4.33 inches) x 90 mm(3 1/2 inches) high in external dimensions. Like other known Hearson microscopes, the case is lined in dark maroon velvet. The plated lock has a sprung upper latch and is signed "British Made" . It has five compartments in addition to the one for the microscope itself. One contains a corked bottle of immersion oil. The microscope can fit in the case with the mechanical stage attached. The outside of the case has loops on the sides for a strap(not present).
