SOME INTRODUCTORY REMARKS:
This is the newer version of the Congress as noted in the Journal of the RMS of 1880. The substage can be centered by sprung fittings controlled by two knurled knobs. This is not as sophisticated as the next version which featured rack and pinion and worm screw controls for this purpose.
