Chevalier Universal Microscope

This page illustrates the arm used with the Chevalier Universal Microscope when using simple lenses. The arm for the simple lenses was missing from my instrument. I fabricated a replica using examples of the arm from two other similar instruments. This was not a simple process and required several hours of work. I did most of this work on a Sherline table-top milling machine using end-mills. A rotary table was used for cutting the ring, both the inside and the outside. My mill does not have motor drives for the lead screws nor does it have a digital readout, which made the project even more tedious. The steel insert was made on my table top Sherline lathe.
