These pictures illustrate the stage from above (top image) and from below (bottom image). The middle image shows the indicators that register against the silver scale; A is for the Y-axis and B is for the X-axis. The bottom image (with substage holder removed) shows the fusee chain mechanism for Y-axis motion and the worm screw for X-axis movement.
