The image here shows the Zentmayer Grand American with the stage assembly removed. It illustrates the one-piece construction of the Jackson-Lister limb, extending to the support for the substage. It also shows how the swinging tailpiece is attached to the limb. This form of construction assures optical alignment of the substage with the optics above the stage, as well as providing rigidity.
