DESCRIPTION:
This is a portable tripod inspection microscope by Voightlander circa 1925. It is signed:VOIGTLAENDER, BRAUNSCHWEIG,No 516731
. The three legs unscrew facilitating its fitting into its carboard cylinder case. It focusing by push-pull in the outer sleeve. The eyepiece is signed 2
and the objective is signed: Voigtlander Braunschweig No2*
. A small flat one-sided mirror is gimbal mounted to a fitting that slides up or down the tripod leg with a stop screw towards its bottom end. The No 2 Huygens eyepiece is reported to have a focal length of 33 mm and the objective a focal length of 24 mm with the combined magnification of about 150X and a working distance for the instrument of about 40 mm.
