Larger diameter condensers supplied for Watson microscopes included the Universal shown here. This condenser fits into the same housing as the Holos Immersion Paraboloid (HIP). The Universal Condenser was first reported in the JRMS in 1901. It was said to be capable of working well with high as well as low powers(with front element removed).
