Note the changes in the No. 2 Nelson Model between 1895 and 1899. The substage fine focus, seen at the bottom end of the tailpiece in the engraving from 1895, was no longer standard by 1899; although not illustrated, it was offered as an option for an additional 2 £ . The Mayall Stage stage with concentric controls was no longer standard by 1899, and therefore the X and Y controls were separate. The Slotted foot-pads(slotted toes) for the frontmost two supports of the tripod foot were now standard. The main optical tube was shortened, although the calibrated drawtubes remained. All the other features remained the same.
