LISTER LIMB

The Lister limb is based on the design of Joseph Jackson Lister. The basic construction features a single solid piece which supports the entire optical tube along its length (red arrows), and is also the support for the stage (yellow arrow). The red arrows point to the limb where it meets the tube along most of its length. This gives much greater support to the tube than a bar limb which supports the tube only at its bottom.
