LEITZ-TYPE OF CAMERA LUCIDA

This web page features the Leitz-type of 'drawing eyepiece.' The instrument replaces the standard eyepiece. It has an integral prism adjusted so that it projects the image of the drawing surface superimposed over the image seen in the eyepiece and this is all optimized with the microscope inclined to the 45 degree angle. Another similar model was designed for use with the microscope in a fully upright vertical position. Other makers, including Nachet made multiprism camera lucidas for the same purpose that fit over the usual eyepiece.
