The 'Traversing' or glide stage, requires removal of the condenser for installation. Once the condenser is removed, the accessory stage slides on the dovetails of the condenser support arm. The condenser is then replaced, serving as a stop. The mirror or electric light source is then replaced. The PTFE fittings glide smoothly and their tension is adjustable. Springs on each side of the slide carrier keep the slide in contact with the stage, and therefore in focus.
