The Holoscopic or 'Holos' objectives were Watson's premier objectives for many years. With only minimally less resolution than full Apochromatics, they offered a wider and flatter field of view than the Apochromatics of the time. For this reason they were quite popular with those who could afford them. The set now with this microscope contains nearly every Holos objective available in 1912, the only notable exception being the 10 mm. This exquisite set of objectives would have cost about the same amount as the full-option Grand Van Heurck itself without optics.
