HELPFUL FACTS IN DATING GLOBES
INTRODUCTION:
Dating scientific instruments is sometimes straightforward, and sometimes not. Makers of Globes seldom, if ever dated their globes. For globes, a list of the dates of countries is often very useful. For instance, Israel was formed May 14, 1948. If a globe shows Israel as a country, that globe must date to after its date of formation.
The following list may help you date a globe, but is not exhaustive. In addition, I have not accurately confirmed these dates, but believe them to be reasonably accurate.
