UNIVERSAL SIMPLE AND COMPOUND MICROSCOPE
MAKER: CHARLES CHEVALIER
c. 1840
SIGNED: 'Microscope Achromatique Universel, de, Charles Chevalier, Ingénieur Opticien, Palais Royal 163 Paris'
This illustrates its use as a simple microscope. There are three simple doublet lenses.
The arm for the simple lenses was missing from my instrument. I fabricated a replica using examples of the arm from two other similar instruments as models. Click on the image of the arm for more views.
