This microscope, sold in the 1930s, was designed for inspection of surfaces, especially metal, but could also be used for paper, wood, cloth etc. It has folding legs which made it very portable. The eyepiece is signed 15X. The upper portion of the main optical tube is signed in very small capital letters:BAUSCH & LOMB OPTICAL CO. ROCHESTER N.Y. U.S.A.
